Yesterday marked the end of the 2021-2022 school year, final marks were in the computer by noon.
What a year it has been! It was supposed to be “back to normal” but for students and teachers it was everything but. Next week, we have students coming back for report cards, prom and graduation ceremonies. Lots of meetings, year-end classroom clean- up and a bit of preparation for next year.
The end of the school year is always greeted with a collection jobs that I have been putting off. I have a barn that needs to be cleaned, outside furniture that needs to be painted, gardens that need to be rebuilt, I need to clean out my deep freezer to make room for this year’s harvest, the list goes on.
The end of a school year is always full of niggling little jobs that have badgered me since September. Now is the time to clean the slate.
I am looking forward to setting a gentle rhythm in the next couple of months, things will get ticked off of a list and my soul will be made light.
