Anyone who knows me,  will know that I love to surround myself with inspirational quotes.  As a matter of fact, in the time that I taught high school my classroom was full of them, they were embedded in my powerpoints, they were posted on the door, on the white boards and even on assignment papers and tests.  I tried to fill my space with positivity, motivation and inspiration.

Now,  at home, they are on my screen saver, in my planner, my journal, and even my Notion board, and just about every blogpost that I have published is evidence of this passion.

Of course I have many favorites. Anything by Maya Angelo seems to thrill my soul, Mel Robbins can kick me in the seat of the pants, and Oprah and Michelle Obama just make me want to be a better person.  Some of my favorites are pithy, smart and perfect for t-shirts.  Others awaken something deep, like poetry or song lyrics, affirming truth that lay dormant somewhere, encapsulating profound wisdom and bringing it to the surface.

So, this morning, as I was scrolling through Pinterest, reading lovely quotes about midsummer, and the beauty of August, I wondered whether other people love quotes like I do? If you do use quotes, how do you use them?

I have some ideas here, but I am sure it’s not exhaustive.
