Welcome to my Home!
I believe our homes quietly tell the story of our lives.
Our spaces bear witness to the people who dwell within their walls; through ordinary moments, through celebrations and hard seasons, and the everyday rituals that become family traditions.
This is not a minimalist lifestyle blog, and really it’s not a decorating blog. Although I love to decorate my space, so much more happens within a home that I want to share with you.
In my physical home, you might find flour dusting the countertop from a loaf of bread that is still rising, or a book lying open because I steal minutes when I can. More often than not, there is a basket of knitting beside my chair or a sewing project waiting patiently for another evening.
There is lace at the windows, fresh flowers gathered from the garden, and something gently simmering on the stove. The pantry shelves hold jars of jam and homemade pickles, the table is set for family, and the house changes with the seasons; not because it has to, but because that's how I like to mark the passing of time.
I don't believe a home has to be perfect. I believe it should feel welcoming, useful, and deeply personal. It should reflect the values, the creativity, and interests of the people who live there.
In my life I have had many roles, I have been a daughter, a wife, a mother, a divorcée, a high school teacher, a community college instructor, a friend, and grandmother. Each season has shaped me in ways I never expected.
Now, in this season of my life, I am choosing deliberately how I want to live.
Although my little pink house is filled with old things that I believe to be beautiful, this isn't a blog about nostalgia. I don't long to return to another era. Instead, I believe ideas and practices from the past can help us live more thoughtfully today.
I believe we create our homes, and then, in turn, our homes create us.
Within the walls we learn practical skills that make us capable and confident. We learn to cook and mend, to manage our money, to care for our families and ourselves. We discover what we value, what brings us peace, and the kind of people we want to become.
A thoughtfully tended home isn't simply a reflection of who we are. It is the places where we are continually being shaped.
That is what My Little Pink Home is really about.
It is about creating spaces that nurture strength.
Spaces that encourage creativity.
Spaces that make hospitality feel natural.
Spaces that support us as we walk back into the world with greater confidence, generosity, and purpose.
Because home is never just where we live.
It is where we become.
Come sit for a bit, I’ll put on a cup of tea.
